Sorolla is the main representative of what could be considered Spanish Impressionist, although the concept doesn’t fit absolutely to the Mediterranean light sea-side views which made him famous all over the world. He was specially appreciated in the United States, where the founder of New York Hispanic Society, Archer Milton Huntington, was his close friend and protector.

The Sorolla Museum occupies his own house and studio, with a very personal decoration and views on an Andalusia-inspired garden. It is one of these delicious lesser-known museums….
