Important advice: Due to COVID-19 outbreak, museums may apply special restrictions on visits (opening hours, rooms opened, group sizes….) to ensure safe visits. The conditions may change, please check with us.

Tour guiding is only possible if all the participants wear masks, either indoors or outdoors. Exceptions may apply (children under 6, etc…).

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY IN OUR GUIDED TOURs

Our health and safety policy against COVID-19 pandemic is based upon two main principles:

  • Maximum prevention, anticipating any risk.
  • Maximum safety, with full compliance with Health authorities rules

PREVENTIVE MEASURES AGAINST COVID

1. BEFORE THE TOUR

1.1 REGULATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

1.2 DESIGN OF SAFE ACTIVITIES

  • Selection of safe activities, routes, times and durations to avoid crowds.
  • Identification of any possible issue and risk at any point (queues, lifts, restrictions during visits….) and adoption of preventive measures (adapt the tour, group size, etc…).
  • As a general rule, admission of groups no bigger than 20 persons, depending on the tour.
  • Identification of all the material needed during the tour, to apply sanitizing procedures.

1.3 USE OF SAFE MATERIAL

  • Personal protection:
    •  Mandatory use, for the guides, of surgical masks (standard UNE-EN 14683:2019+AC:2019) o face shield.
    • Mandatory use, for the guides, of alcohol-based hand sanitizer at the beginning and at the end of the tour, and any time needed.
    • Compliance of hygienic protocols, according to specification UNE 0066-8 regarding face masks and hands cleaning.
  • Tour guiding equipment:
    • Use of our own tour guiding equipments, sanitized before each use, with virucides approved by Spanish Heath authorities. This applies to:
      • Transmitters
      • Receivers
      • Microphones
    • Use of specific and distinguishable packaging for material sanitized and material used.
    • In case of use of tour guiding system provided by third parties (museums or other providers), the rented equipment must comply with Madrid Original ® standards.
  • Earphones:
    • Use of brand new earphones at each visit, delivered as a gift to each client.
    • Alternatively, each client can use his/her own earphones (jack 3.5 connection).

1.4 GUIDES HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Madrid Original ® provides the guides every safety material needed during the professional activity.
  • In case a guide of our team has symptoms of COVID-19 disease, or has been in contact with a person with symptoms, he/she will stop working with the public, and will follow the instructions of Health authorities.

1.5 COMMUNICATION WITH OUR CLIENTS

  • Before each activity, we will inform our clients about the conditions of health safety and prevention.
  • If needed, specific risks of a special visit can be notified.

2. SAFETY MEASURES DURING THE TOURS

  • Avoid physical contact (greeting, etc…)
  • Use, by the guide, of surgical mask or face shield.
  • Sanitize hands before each tour, with alcohol based solution, at the starting of the tour.
  • Remind everybody, before the tour:
    • The rules about safety distance, hands hygiene and use of mask.
    • How the visit will be, in safe conditions.
    • The need, in case a person has symptoms, to abandon the group immediately.
  • Safe distribution of material:
    • Deliver only safe and sanitized material according to our internal procedure.
    • Deliver only brand new earphones, when Madrid Original ® tour guide system equipment is used.
    • Remind the clients they can use their own earphones (Jack 3,5 connection).
  • At the end of the tour:
    • Throw away any disposable material in safe conditions.
    • Keep safely the tour guiding system to be sanitized before next tour.

Acaba este domingo 30 de agosto, aunque sólo quedan tramos para visitas guiadas mañana viernes. ¿Cuántas veces vamos a poder contemplar tantos Rembrandt tan relajadamente como en la foto de esta mañana?

La Fundación Juan March estrena exposición: “Los irascibles: pintores contra el Museo. Nueva York, 1950”.

Rothko, Motherwell, Pollock, Clyfford Still y con ellos hasta 18 artistas americanos se rebelaron contra el Metropolitan Museum de Nueva York en el año 1950, al considerar que el gusto del museo estaba anclado al pasado.

Una exposición con un planteamiento muy original, para adentrarnos desde un ángulo nuevo al expresionismo abstracto americano.

El Museo de San Telmo de San Sebastián presta al Museo Lázaro Galdiano una bella tabla de Jan Metsys: "Susana y los viejos". Jan Metsys nos ofrece aquí un excelente ejemplo de la introducción de tendencias italianas en la pintura flamenca de la primera mitad del siglo XVI. Un motivo más para revisitar el Museo Lázaro Galdiano.
